Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the insertion of disposable filiform needles into the body at either acupuncture points which have been clearly mapped out over underlying bony landmarks and musculature, or trigger points traditionally known as ‘ashi points’. Acupuncture may be practiced on the basis of traditional Chinese medical principles and/or modern biomedical principles to stimulate underlying neural, muscular, and connective tissues for preventive and therapeutic purposes. These points are selected based on your individual condition, Chinese medical diagnosis, and over 2,000 years of clinical experience and research from China and the rest of the world. A licensed acupuncturist practices Chinese medicine after the completion of at minimum a 3-4 year masters degree, passing 4 national board exams, and receiving licensing from the Georgia Composite Medical Board. Depending on your condition your acupuncturist may recommend moxibustion, heat, cupping, guasha, electrical stimulation, Chinese medical dietary adjustments, or an herbal prescription to aid your recovery.
Fertility Acupuncture
Unlock Your Fertility Potential with Chinese Medicine
Think of your body as fertile ground awaiting a precious seed. With acupuncture, we aim to regulate menstrual cycles, easing heavy bleeding, painful periods, and premenstrual syndrome - issues that are not just discomforts but may, according to Chinese medicine principles, interfere with fertility.
Acupuncture can enhance your chances of conception, even during IVF cycles. By increasing blood flow to the uterus, it has been associated with higher pregnancy rates, fewer ectopic pregnancies, and a decreased risk of certain types of early pregnancy loss (unrelated to genetic abnormalities) and higher take home baby rates. Whether you're trying naturally or in conjunction with ART, acupuncture has been proven to reduce stress. If you're undergoing IUI or IVF treatment, acupuncture can help reduce the side effects of commonly used drugs, and possibly prevent uterine contractions after embryo transfer.
For over 1800 years within Chinese medicine, the treatment of women’s health and infertility has been almost exclusively an herbalist’s specialty. Studies demonstrate that when Chinese Herbal Medicine is combined with IVF the following may be seen:
Increase in pregnancy rates and live birth rates
Increase in eggs retrieved, fertilization and blastocyst rates
Increase in blood flow to the uterus and thickness of the uterine lining
Decrease in miscarriage rates
Cosmetic Acupuncture & Microneedling
Microneedling boosts collagen production, reducing wrinkles and fine lines. It improves skin texture, minimizes scars and pores, and evens out skin tone by fading hyperpigmentation. The procedure also enhances the absorption of skincare products and tightens the skin, leading to a smoother, more youthful complexion.
Facial rejuvenation acupuncture enhances skin health by promoting collagen production, improving circulation, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and restoring overall balance to the body, resulting in a more youthful appearance.
Dry Needling
Don't be deceived. Dry needling is acupuncture. A=B.
Same needle, same technique, same points. Vastly different amount of training.
Many people mistakenly believe that dry needling is entirely different from acupuncture, but this is not the case. It is common practice for physical therapists (PT) to misinform their patients that dry needling is not acupuncture. However, the American Medical Association (AMA) has stated that dry needling is indistinguishable from acupuncture. A=B. The AMA recommends that physical therapist’s training for dry needling be benchmarked to the required training and standards for training, certification and continuing education that already exist for the practice of acupuncture. The Georgia Composite Medical Board who issues licenses to physicians and acupuncturists says, “Dry needling is a technique of the practice of acupuncture”; A=B.
PTs in Georgia that do dry needling are only required to take two weekend classes totaling 50 hours. In Georgia a physician needs to take 300 hours of training to practice dry needling acupuncture. You're more likely to be seriously injured when receiving acupuncture by another name from a poorly trained practitioner. Acupuncturists are required to complete at minimum a masters in acupuncture with almost 1400 hours of needling specific education.
Make no mistake; dry needling is an invasive procedure.
An acupuncture needle or technique by any other name would still ...be as sharp and as dangerous in the hands of unqualified poorly-trained practitioner.
It only takes seconds to puncture someone's lung:

This PT has no idea what Clean Needle Technique (CNT) is and NO, she did not learn everything she needs to know about clean needling in an OSHA class:

To assure public safety, additional training in acupuncture is necessary for physical therapists who practice dry needling, a form of acupuncture. Don't go there.
